THIS was in my e-mail inbox this morning!!!!!

Dear Mr Wagner,

The information you found on our website is correct, BMW-Welt will be launched in summer 2007.

Yours sincerely

I am stunned, do we dare to hope and pray that this is accurate and not just an attempt to placate that pesky American (your truly) who is badgering them constantly to know when the Welt will open?  2funny

If this is indeed true, it is GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!  WOO WOOOOOOOOOO

Cheers,

are we talking here about the new ED center? If yes, then that's great, I've seen several pics and it looks amazing. Time for a new ED I guess

Well, the more I read the reply, the more I feel that it is extremely VAGUE....what do they mean by "open"?? The ability to walk into the Welt and see the building??  Will there be any cars on display??  When will the delivery area be up and running??  What part of "summer" do they mean??  July?? August??  September?? If the building is open enough to allow visitors and done enough to allow cars to be on view, then why should the delivery area not be open as well??  The only thing I could see opening later might be the restaurants, cafés, gift shops etc.  Personally I would hate to see the opening delayed because they do not yet have the latte and cappuccino machine set up properly in the bistro...or, heaven forbid, the beer tap in the bar!!!  2funny

Also, even if there is still some exterior finishing to do (and interior work is done) why could they not start deliveries then??

Just some thoughts on a warm and windy holiday Monday in Austin

Cheers,
